BEAUTY TRENDS: FROM CATWALKS SPRING/SUMMER 2020

Fashion weeks in New York and London have been hectic, full of different styles  and impressive looks. Now when it comes to Milan it is the best time to summarize all the beauty looks from the catwalks to be concern about the trends which we will see in the upcoming months.

#1

GRAPHIC LINES

The most recurrent element of the catwalks is certainly the eyeliner used in a thousand different ways: from the long cat-eye punk style by Jeremy Scott to the definition of the eyelid with a burgundy color by Victoria Beckham, more elegant and refined. Even Anna Sui has opted for a more artistic graphic touch and many designers have proposed more neon colors, as in the Helmut Lang fashion show. One thing is certain, the catwalks say that we must dare also in beauty, as Kiko Kostadinov has made.

#2

MESSY HAIR

A hairstyle is, without any doubts, is a crutiual part of any look as every dress on the catwalk is enhanced by a particular hairstyle. We noticed the trend of messy hair in the looks of Michael Kors, a fake tidy style as well as the ones of Reyna Pyo. Also interesting one is Bora Aksu who outlines her disheveled hairstyle with braids in “wild” style. Some designers have linked messy hairstyle to a figure of particular and geometric eyebrows, see the backstage of Dirty Pineapple and Molly Goddard. Special mention also for the hair pulled back with predilection for the wet effect.

#3

SPARKLING POP COLORS

The pop colors havn’t abandoned us. We saw them on the web beauty guru channels throughout 2019 and fashion shows seem showing us that they will continue to accompany us until at least the middle of 2020. Keep an eye on the most elaborate makeup and the ones with jewel inserts (see the catwalk Marc Jacobs). This looks are very pop with a watercolor effect, like backstage of Oscar de la Renta, followed by glittery and bold styles like those of House of Holland and Pyer Moss.

#4

POWER TO THE BLUSH

Start to see the accentuated use of this tool. The models showed off more colors, blended very well along the cheekbones up to the temples and beyond. Jason Wu has chosen faded shades above the eyelids to create a full-face pastel. The choice of Pyer Moss is more accentuated with a blush in shades of fuchsia that creates more dimension on the face, turning into a delicate contour.
